Yesterday I attended a panel with Anne Boden, Founder and CEO of Starling Bank, an inspirational female founder. She has disrupted the 300+ year old British banking industry, and in just a few short years, Starling Bank is almost half the size of Barclays. Loved her story of the challenges she faced and overcame in raising nearly £300 million to grow Starling Bank to the success it has already become. Thanks to Shalini Khemka CBE and the team at E2Exchange for organizing the event.
I had a good discussion with David B Horne, author of ‘Funded Female Founders’ – How to traverse the uneven playing field and secure funding to grow your business. The share of funding by female founders has remained unfairly and disproportionally low, a state of affairs that has remained unchanged for many years despite advances made in other areas of gender equality in business.
